I wanted to send you a note of thanks for the amazing watercolor of our Bernese Mountain Dogs that you so appropriately titled "Wet and Wonderful". After seeing one of your prior commissions I knew that I needed to immediately contact you to see about a painting of Tapper and Bell as a Christmas gift for Randal.

I cannot thank you enough for how easy you made the process of sending photos and choosing which shots would work best to bring out both dogs personalities. It felt as though you truly understood Tapper and Bell based upon the photos I sent and the descriptions I provided you. When you told me that you felt that Tapper "was an old soul" and that Bell seemed to be "ready to burst" – I knew you had them pegged!

I was so excited to see the finished product via your website, but it barely did the original justice! When the original arrived at my home, I nearly cried as I viewed it for the first time. I was looking at my dogs, and they looked beautiful.

Randal was thoroughly shocked as the dogs and I presented it to him on Christmas day. The portrait now hangs prominently in our home office and I have to say, I smile every single time I look at "Wet and Wonderful".

Our family cannot thank you enough.

My heart felt thanks to Carrie and Randal for offering these few kind words.

Thank you from the bottom of my being for Fortune and Bentley’s exquisite portraits.  Carol, they are more wonderful that I ever thought possible.  You captured MY DOGS.  That is Fortune Fivehdrd standing, looking exactly as she did the day that photo was taken.  You added such an exceptional background and gave her the magnificence I think she deserves.  She is such a lovely, majestic creature.  From the moment Bobbi Blewett, her breeder, first saw Fortune’s eyes, she always talks about what beautiful eyes Fortune has.  When you emailed me and told me you needed a picture of her eyes, you needed to see Fortune’s eyes to paint her, I smiled to myself and thought that it would be impossible for anyone to capture her exquisite eyes.  Carol, YOU DID IT.  That is MY Fortune – gee, I’m starting to cry as I write this.

And Bentley, well Bentley’s portrait shows him to be the very happy soul he is.  I see the promise my boy holds in growing to a mature adult.  He is such a boy, an imp who loves to play.  It’s so appropriate you positioned him among the pumpkins.  I have many of my ceramic and basket pumpkins (and pumpkin themed stuffed bears) out and about my home now.  Bentley will put his nose close and sometimes playfully peer around them.  You painted his face perfectly; that’s my Bentley boy!  I’m overwhelmed when I look at the portraits.

One of my dog show acquaintances writes the animal column for our Cleveland area newspaper, the Plain Dealer. She recently wrote of the death of her young dog, about the importance of hugging our animals and taking recent pictures of them. I have many show photos but, until now, no what I call real life pictures. Thank you for painting these lovely portraits. You caught the essence of my kids in their prime, full of life and with faces full of happiness and promise. I will cherish them forever. I will keep you apprised of Bentley’s show career.  If you ever need a glowing reference from someone in the States, I’ll be glad to provide it.

I hope you received many commissions from people lucky enough to see your work in these portraits on exhibition at the Festival of the Plough.

Be well and stay in touch from time to time!

P.S  If you ever decide to leave the UK, you MUST move to Carmel. You would be so much at home there.

Again I really appreciate this glowing testimonial from Joni,  painting Bentley was quite straight forward but I needed to check with Google for the current price on Pumkins  !!
