CAROL PONTIN ART WORKSHOPS AT THE LOW BURNHAM STUDIO
This is my home studio where I paint my commissions and have the facility to take small classes for clients who wish to attend on a regular weekly basis.
I can accommodate a maximum of eight people and have built up a series of groups taking mainly watercolour and acrylics but able to switch to drawing, pastels etc when and if required. Flexibilty is the key, each class can discuss and decide on future projects.
I have purposely set out to create a friendly and supportive environment for people looking to improve and share their creative skills.
We enjoy and encourage a very relaxed atmosphere which can and does regularly dissolve into tears of laughter. For many of our members these weekly sessions have become an oasis where enjoyment is the key to giving full rein to their emotions and simply "going with the flow".
For beginners or people returning to painting it can of course be a rather daunting experience to sit down with a group of complete strangers - rest assured that we don't do embarrassment - only encouragement.
I try to make it very easy for you to take the plunge - having taken that first step I will guide you through each painting step by step, sharing techniques until you have the confidence to experiment and begin to develop your own style, that is when you can truly begin to contribute to the group and even start to help others along the way.
At the end of each lesson we have a question and answer session and each person returns home with a finished painting knowing that each stage has been explained meticulously at a pace that is comfortable for all.
Materials required:
I do not promote "sponsored" painting materials - I sometimes despair when new people arrive with a huge selection of expensive boxes, brushes, paints etc which have been foisted upon them - my clients use a very small selection of brushes which are not expensive and can be purchased easily in local shops. I am happy to provide loan brushes and paints for the first lesson and offer advice on materials which can be acquired at very reasonable cost at a variety of outlets.
