ART WORKSHOPS

AT THE DOVECOTE GALLERY

A TYPICAL WORKSHOP....

The cost of each Workshop is £20.00 which is inclusive of a splendid home-made meal and delicious sweet with tea or coffee at the adjacent Dovecote Café.

Complimentary tea or coffee is served on arrival with the Workshop starting at 2pm, we work through until 4pm when food is served in the Café. Around thirty minutes later Carol offers advice on each individual piece of work and there is a question & answer session on the techniques that have been used.

Each person returns home with a finished painting knowing that each stage has been explained meticulously at a pace that is comfortable for all.

There is always an alternative for vegetarian tastes - please inform us on booking of any specific food allergies

In response to requests later in the year we will be holding All-Day Workshops which will include Lunch at the Dovecote Café.

At the Dovecote Gallery we currently have a maximum capacity of ten or eleven people per session, our first few workshops were fully booked. We are planning during the coming months to open a purpose built facility to cater for Art Workshops and display exhibitions of different arts and crafts. It is not our intention to drastically increase class numbers as the close knit composition of Carol’s workshops are vital to her innovative style and it is our firm intention to replicate at the Dovecote the warm comfortable atmosphere of sessions also held at her Low Burnham Studio.

We at the Low Burnham Studo combined with the new Dovecote Gallery have purposely set out to create a friendly and supportive environment for people looking to improve and share their creative skills.

We enjoy and encourage a very relaxed atmosphere which can and does regularly dissolve into tears of laughter. To many of our members these weekly sessions have become an oasis where enjoyment is the key to giving full rein to their emotions and simply “going with the flow”.

For beginners or people returning to painting it can of course be a rather daunting experience to sit down with a group of complete strangers – rest assured that we don’t do embarrassment – only encouragement.

We look to produce regular exhibitions of our work and you will see from our exhibits that we as a group have achieved significant success over a relatively short period of time, what is not evident is the frustration, fun and tremendous sense of achievement that we have shared together.

Art does not need to be stuffy or shrouded in mystique and mumbo jumbo it really should be tremendous fun, with us it most definitely is.
